Starlit Master
What it is
The Starlit Master fights at a quick, even tempo and draws a puzzle on the ground. Its signature marks four stars around you. They burst one after another, in an order it shows you. It has 26 named techniques. It raises its guard after every third attack. Once its named techniques begin, a banner tells you how to answer each strike.
At the start of the trial it tells you its lesson: it marks four stars that burst in the drawn order, so leave each star before its turn.
How to get it
Sneak and use a wandering duelist who breathes Starlit, or type /master challenge starlit. You need Aura Form or Heart Circle VIII. See Sword Masters for the full trial rules.
Starlit students gather at the Star Terrace, a hall it shares with Dawn. Look for it in cherry groves and plains. Its reading room is sealed with arcane. See Masters sites.
Constellation
Four stars that burst in order. The banner reads “Leave each star before it bursts!”
- The Master uses it when you’re 2 to 7 blocks away and about level with it. It stands still while it casts.
- One star sits under you. The others are 2.5 blocks to your right, 2.5 blocks to your left, and 2.5 blocks behind you (on the side away from the Master).
- Lines join the stars in the order they will burst. The next star to burst has a white ring; the others are pale blue.
- Each star is a circle with a 1.6-block radius. They burst at about 0.7, 1.0, 1.3 and 1.6 seconds.
- A burst deals 18 damage before armor to every challenger inside it. The whole form can’t deal you more than 52.5.
Jumping doesn’t help, because each star reaches well above the ground. Follow the white ring and step clear of each star before its turn. The Master is open for about 0.8 seconds after the last burst. It can’t use the form again for 8 seconds.
Other moves
- Techniques: chains of two to four strikes. Wind-ups take about 0.6 to 0.7 seconds, and the Master stays open for 0.7 to 0.8 seconds after each one. Its finisher is Last Constellation. See Reading a Master.
- Pursuit dash: if you hold a spell too long, it may dash up to 4.8 blocks at you, at most once every 7 seconds.
- Crescent volley: it throws flying blades if you stay more than 6 blocks away or well above or below it.
Rewards for a clear

| Flow | Meteor Shower |
| Edge | Constellation Guard (a counter) |
| Form | Comet Dash |
| Sovereign | Nova |
Full details are on Breathing methods.
Tips and counterplay
- The first star is always under you. Move as soon as the lines appear.
- Each star bursts only once. After it bursts, that spot is safe for the rest of the form.
- The bursts come only 0.3 seconds apart, so plan your path before the first one.
- The Starlit Master guards after every third attack. Flank it or use an axe.
