The Marchkeeper Battlefields
What it is
Rare outdoor ruins from the Marchkeepers’ wars. Each holds a stone memorial that teaches one technique intent and gives an illustrated field book.
How to get it
Search plains, sunflower plains, meadows, savannas and snowy plains. There are three kinds:
| Tradition | What you’ll see | Lesson |
|---|---|---|
| The Line That Broke | Staggered barricades with a breach | Sunder: break a foe’s footing |
| The Last Shelter | A ruined shelter wall and its garden | Bind: hold a foe instead of chasing |
| The Returned Step | Paired cairns and a broken watchtower | Echo: leave an answering stroke |
How to use it
- Find the weathered stone with crossed blades in the middle.
- Hold your blade, sneak and stay still until you enter the breathing stance.
- Use the memorial and hold the stance next to it for eight seconds.
Moving away, standing up, losing your blade or losing sight of the memorial interrupts it.
Your first time at each tradition gives you its field book and teaches its technique intent. You can learn it before Edge, but writing your own techniques still needs the usual stage. See Techniques.
Tips
- Each tradition teaches you once, at any of its sites. Other players can still learn from the same memorial.
- Using a memorial again replays its three pages in chat, with no new reward.
- Supply chests hold modest materials. These ruins are not protected and have no boss.
Server settings
aura_world.battlefields turns new battlefields and memorials on or off. Existing ruins stay.
