The Sleeping Blade
What it is
A rare landmark where Oathkeeper, an old Marchkeeper longsword, rests in a cracked stone socket among small ruins. Each stone gives its blade once, to the first swordsman who draws it.

How to get it
Look in meadows, windswept hills, windswept gravelly hills, stony peaks and plains. Sites sit on fairly level, dry ground, sometimes with cairns, a broken threshold or the remains of a shelter nearby.
How to use it
- Reach Form in Aura.
- Have no bonded blade. If you have one, release it first on the Aura page’s Blade tab. The stone never replaces a bond for you.
- Empty your main hand, stand on solid ground next to the socket and sneak to kneel.
- Use the stone and hold still for six seconds, close to it and looking at it.
The blade rises in three stages while the stone strains and the ground cracks. Moving, standing up, taking damage, leaving the ground, losing sight of the stone or holding an item breaks the draw, and the blade settles back.
When the draw finishes, Oathkeeper lands in your main hand already bonded to you, with a head start of resonance toward Named. You also get The Last Oath, a three-page history book.

For what Oathkeeper does in a fight, see Swordsman’s Weapons. In short: while bonded and in your main hand, your guard costs 15% less, perfect guards build 30% more momentum, and ordinary hits build 20% less.
Tips
- Only one player can draw a given stone at a time, and only once ever. An empty stone never gives a second blade, even if the first owner releases the bond.
- Using an empty stone gives you The Last Oath if you haven’t had it yet.
- Oathkeeper follows all the bonded blade rules: kept through death, never breaking, only yours. It still has to earn its later tiers.
- There is no recipe for Oathkeeper.
Server settings
aura_world.sleeping_blades turns new landmarks and drawing on or off. Turning it off keeps existing ruins and blades already
drawn.
