Codex Bestiary

The Grimoire’s field guide lists every creature in the world worth knowing about. Seeing one up close writes its entry, and the rest show a hint of where to look. The codex adds a tally: every creature in the guide that you kill is counted, and the count teaches you more about it.

Ranks

Rank	Kills	What the field guide shows
Slain	1	How many you’ve slain, next to its name
Studied	10	Its health, armour and how hard it hits
Mastered	30	Its rank in gold

Hover a creature in the field guide to see its rank and how many more kills the next one takes. Reaching Studied or Mastered is also told in chat.

The codex is knowledge only. No rank makes you hit harder or take less damage. Only creatures in the field guide are counted. Kills by your pets and spells count as long as the kill is yours. The tally is kept when you die.
