Ebb Ledger and Reweave
What it is
Reweave lays a small Harm field on the ground, then lets you redraw it once into a narrow lane. The field keeps its timing; only its shape changes. You learn it from The Ebb Ledger, the Tide Scribe’s lesson.
How to get it
You need both of these:
- An active Twelfth Heart Circle (see Heart Circles).
- Low Tide, the feat for defeating the Tide Scribe in the Drowned Scriptorium.
Then:
- Open your Cord, then Grimoire → Master studies → Reweave: The Ebb Ledger.
- Read the three pages in order.
- On the last page, press Learn Reweave.
Low Tide alone recovers the lesson. You do not need the altar, a book or a second fight, even on older saves. If the reading closes (death, changing dimension, disconnecting, or about five minutes idle), start again from page one.
A defeated Tide altar can also give you an optional paper copy, plus one replacement. Losing the book never removes the lesson.
How to use it
- Wear an Echo Cord and thread exactly Reweave + Harm in a normal spell slot.
- Select the slot (default V). Aim at visible floor within 8 blocks and tap Cast (default R). A disc with a 2-block radius appears.
- Let go of the key. Aim along the ground where you want the lane.
- Tap Cast again. After a silent 0.4-second warning, the disc becomes one lane 7 blocks long and 1.25 blocks wide, from the same center.
The field hits four times, at 0.4, 1.4, 2.4 and 3.4 seconds after you place it. Each beat is half of a normal Harm. The field ends at 4 seconds. Rewriting does not reset that clock: a beat that falls during the warning is lost. Rewrite before about the 3-second mark or nothing is left to land.
You do not have to rewrite. The disc still hits on its own.
Cost and limits
- 40 base mana (32 for Reweave, 8 for Harm), paid once at placement. Normal discounts apply. The rewrite is free. No refunds.
- One field at a time, then an 8-second rest shared by every Reweave slot.
- Exactly Reweave + Harm. No modifiers, links, Knots, woven runes, passives, scrolls, imbues or overcasting.
- The center and each target must be within 16 blocks of you and in your sight, and the center must see the target. The whole lane must be clear.
Cancel: hold Sneak and make a fresh Cast press on the same slot. You get no refund and the rest still runs. Opening a menu or taking damage does not stop the beats. The rewrite only works from the original slot with the original Reweave + Harm row.
The field ends if you die, change dimension or disconnect. Your learned lesson and rest timer are kept.
Practice (optional)
Place a Training Dummy more than 2 and less than 7 blocks from where you plan the center. Place the disc, let go, aim at the dummy and rewrite early enough for a beat to remain. A lane hit outside the old disc records the exercise. It gives no XP or reward.
Tips and counterplay
- Place the disc where enemies stand, then stretch it down a corridor when they run.
- Rewrite early. A late rewrite wastes beats.
- Against Reweave: the warning shows the lane before it hits. Step sideways out of the narrow strip, or break line of sight to the caster or the center. Beats that miss because of cover are lost.
