Daily contracts
Today’s contracts, with progress bars and rewards
What it is
Every day you get three contracts: small jobs done with magic, each with a reward. Every player has their own.
How to get it
Right-click any Scribing Desk to open your board. You don’t need a Runesmith nearby. Every desk shows you the same board.
Each day’s three are different kinds, picked from these six. The numbers vary within the ranges shown.
| Contract | Reward |
|---|---|
| Defeat 3 to 5 Runebound with Fire, Frost, Storm, Wind, Earth or Arcane spells | A random Tier II rune |
| Set off 2 to 4 of one reaction (Shatter, Conduct, Wildfire, Implode, Collapse, Overload, Fracture, Blight, Unweave, Rupture or Elapse) | 6 Blank Runes |
| Cast 15, 20 or 25 spells on a ley line | 8 Emeralds |
| Imbue a weapon and use all its charges | 1 Mana Crystal |
| Slay 10, 15 or 20 monsters with spells | 6 Emeralds |
| Cast 20, 25 or 30 spells of Fire, Frost, Storm, Wind, Earth or Arcane | 4 Blank Runes |
How to use it
- Handing in is automatic. Open the board and finished contracts are handed in; rewards go to your inventory, or drop at your feet if it’s full.
- Progress shows above your hotbar as it moves. A chime tells you when a contract is done.
- One cast or kill counts toward every contract it fits.
What counts
- Casts count only when your spell hurts a real creature within 5 seconds. Casting at the air, a Training Dummy, an armour stand or a wisp earns nothing. One cast counts once, however many it hits.
- Element casts count once for each element in the spell. Effects inside a Knot count too.
- Ley line casts need you standing on a ley line.
- Only spells from your Cord count, not scrolls.
- Reactions count when you set one off on a real creature. See Reactions.
- Kills are yours if the creature dies within 5 seconds of your spell hurting it, unless someone else’s spell hurt it after yours. Monsters only, not animals. Runebound kills count toward the element of the spell that last hit it.
- The imbue contract needs a weapon (sword, axe, bow, crossbow, trident, mace or spear) with every charge used. See Imbuing.
Tips and counterplay
- A new board comes each dawn. Unfinished contracts are gone.
- Finished but not handed in? It stays on the next board, reward and all, until you hand it in.
- Turning time back doesn’t give a new board or pay twice.
- A Frost spell cast on a ley line that kills a Runebound can move three contracts at once.
