Mana Elixirs
A mana elixir doesn’t hand you more mana. It changes how your mana works, and every one of them takes something back. Each brews from something you harvest off the residues that big spells leave behind.
| Elixir | Brew | Gives | Costs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Elixir of Torrent | Potion of Clarity + Bottled Gale | Mana refills twice as fast (Torrent II: three times) | A quarter less max mana (Torrent II: half) |
| Elixir of the Deep Well | Awkward Potion + Geode Grit | 40% more max mana (Deep Well II: 80%) | Mana refills 40% slower (Deep Well II: 80%) |
| Elixir of Condensing | Awkward Potion + Hourglass Sand | Half again as much of the mana you spend condenses toward your next Heart Circle (Condensing II: twice as much) | Every spell costs 20% more (Condensing II: 40%) |
An elixir lasts 3 minutes. Add redstone for 8 minutes, or glowstone dust for level II at 1:30. Gunpowder makes a splash elixir and dragon’s breath a lingering one, the same as any potion.
Using them
- Torrent suits a long fight where you cast small spells again and again.
- Deep Well suits one big opening: fill the bigger pool before the fight, then spend it all at once.
- Condensing is for training. Drink it while you work toward a circle, not when you need every spell to count.
Torrent and Deep Well stack with each other and with everything else that touches mana, like Clarity, Nourished, a ley line or meditating. Two levels of an elixir are the most that count. If Torrent shrinks your pool below the mana you have, the extra drains away. The elixirs work only on a player wearing a Cord.
