Tideward Crossing Kit
What it is
Three pieces of wetland gear: boots for wading, glasses for reading crab warnings and a line for checking a route. None of them use magic.

How to get it
Every recipe is shapeless.

| Bank Surveyor’s Line | Stick + Copper Ingot + Windreed Braid + Moonreed Floss | Held |
How to use it
Reedwater Waders
Walk, without sprinting, on solid ground in shallow water. The boots give you a small speed boost.
- They don’t help when you are in deep water, swimming, riding or in the air.
- Each second of wading costs 1 wear.
- After 5 seconds of wading, they need 2 seconds of rest.
Dewglass Spectacles
Crouch and look at a Reedback Crab for half a second while its claws are up. It must be within 8 blocks and in clear view. Reed notches then appear above its warning.
Each reading costs 1 wear and starts a 3-second rest. The spectacles only read the warning. To calm the crab, use a Reed Rattle.

Bank Surveyor’s Line
- Use it on one bank.
- Within 5 seconds, use it on a second bank.
- The banks can be up to 8 blocks apart.
- They can differ by no more than 1 block in height.
- Sneak-use cancels.
The line checks for solid footing, room for your body and dry ground or shallow water. It fails on deep holes, lava, blocked space or protected land.
A good route shows a braided line for 5 seconds. It costs 2 wear and starts a 4-second rest. The line never places blocks or changes the water.

Tips and counterplay
- The survey reads the ground, but animals may still get in your way. Check your jump and the water depth.
- Server claim plugins may refuse a survey on claimed land.
- To make a shallow basin rather than read one, use Basinfill.
