Loadouts
What it is

A loadout is your whole Cord saved under a name: every spell’s runes (the tome’s fifth spell too), their names, your passives and which are on, and the selected spell. Keep one for fighting, one for mining, one for exploring, and swap in a moment.
You can keep 6 loadouts. They’re yours alone and stay when you die. A loadout remembers where runes go, not the runes themselves, so loading one never gives you a rune.
How to get it
Open the Cord screen (K) and click the list badge at
the end of the family tabs, or press Ctrl+L. Click + Save current as new, type a name and press Enter.
Names are up to 24 letters, and two loadouts can’t share a name.
How to use it
| To | Do this | Keyboard |
|---|---|---|
| Save your Cord as a new loadout | + Save current as new | Ctrl+N |
| Put a loadout on your Cord | Load | ↑/↓ then Enter |
| Save over a loadout | ⇩, then click again within 3 seconds | Ctrl+S twice |
| Rename | ✎, type, Enter |
Ctrl+R |
| Delete | ✕, then click again within 3 seconds | Delete twice |
| Close | Esc, × or click outside |
Ctrl+L |
Hover a loadout’s name to see everything in it. Deleting a loadout never changes your Cord.
The Next loadout key cycles through your loadouts in order. It’s unbound by default: set it in Controls, under Wildercord.

What loading does
- Runes you can’t use go quiet, not lost: runes you don’t know, runes too strong for your Cord, and runes past its sockets. They wake once you learn them or wear a bigger Cord. See Cords.
- Changed spells start their cooldown, as if just cast. Unchanged spells keep theirs. Swapping never gives you a fresh spell mid-fight.
- You can’t load while charging a spell, during a duel (countdown included), while sealed in Cryostasis ice, or without a Cord. Saving, renaming and deleting always work.
Tips and counterplay
| Loadout | Idea |
|---|---|
| Fighting | Your best attack, a Shield spell, a heal, and a Stoneskin passive. |
| Mining | Beam · Break, Self · Night Eye · Haste, and Self · Swift as a passive. |
| Exploring | Leap, Blink, Feather Fall and Soar, with Night Eye as a passive. |
| Helping friends | Heals and buffs that reach allies, and a Regrowth passive. |
- Swap before the fight, not during it: changed spells all start on cooldown.
- A loadout saved on an Echo Cord still loads on a Twine Cord. Only what that Cord can fire fires.
